This might sound like a dumb question.....but, if I'm on my stationary bike, and I have a fan on me to keep me cool....am I burning as many calories as if I were to do the same workout at the same intensity with out a fan where I were to sweat more?

that's a good question...

so you're saying that you sweat more when you don't have a fan on you to keep you cool?

how do you know that you sweat more? the fan evaporates sweat to cool your body but you still continue to sweat.

Well.....I don't sweat much at all....at least I don't feel my self sweat.

But I have seen people wear like full sweat suits while they cardio saying that the more you sweat the faster you'll get cut or the more you burn. I was just wondering if there is any truth to this?

i look at it this way... sweat is water. the more you sweat the more water your body requires. you're essentially replacing any liquid you sweat out and that's the way it is supposed to be.

sweat isn't fat. true you may loses weight through sweat but you'll gain that right back when you take a drink. if you don't drink after you sweat then you end up dehydrating your body and that's not a good thing.

sweating is a good thing for cleansing the body though. toxins are sweated out of the body and replaced by fresh clean water (given you drink water after exercise)
